Conexiones Improbables in collaboration with Fundacion German Sanchez Ruiperez

In 2012 Leili and Madeleine (working as collaboration In Common) undertook a large-scale community research project with Conexiones Improbables in central Spain, in collaboration with the Fundacion German Sanchez Ruiperez (a charity dedicated to the promotion of reading and literature).

The year long project resulted in a series of public artworks and events that engaged the staff and townspeople in rethinking relationships between culture and new technologies.  Together we produced a play with an amateur theatre group based on the famous Spanish text by Miguel de Unamuno Fog, (Niebla), in which a character seeks out the author of his book to ask how he might die. We made cloud walks through the city and produced a short film that allowed people to walk through the library guided by the experience of being both online and in the physical spaces of the library.

Over four months we hosted workshops, walks, and digital reading sessions to learn more about how these work places might change from the rapid movement to online delivery of library services.
